Sponsors Pull Support from NYC's Public Theater
Delta and Bank of America have pulled their support from The Public Theater because of the company's production of Julius Caesar (which portrays Shakespeare's Roman emperor in a Trump-like manner) after Donald Trump, Jr complained on Twitter. We always know that donors can pull support for any reason they see appropriate, but this is an unsettling precedent.
Update: It turns out that Delta had no problem sponsoring a theater company whose production of Julius Caesar portrayed the assassination of the then-current president in 2012… but in 2016, it's grounds for withdrawing as official airline of The Public Theater. What changed?
